Learning Disability Forum Home - Issues - Minutes/Reports - HAVE YOUR SAY

Welcome to East Lothian Learning Disability Forum.

What interests us is support and care, while leading lives as independently as possible. Whether it's earning a wage, sport, recreation, respite care or that old subject transport, we have always something to talk about.

Our popular Forum involves all sorts and is always open to more. There's a real need in East Lothian to pass the news, find out what services are available and discover what's happening. Come along and find out.

  Issues

Day Centres: Opening hours are a problem. There's no evening and weekend opening at day centres, and the hours of 9.30am - 3.30 pm Monday to Friday... it's not in touch with what people do.

Getting about: Were slagging the transport, but the drivers and escorts are the best.
The Midlothian FFAB club has a good transport service. Why don't we have a service like that in East Lothian?

Improving services: The trouble with the Council is that it takes a long time for anything to happen.

Respite: My mum has to drive two to three hours to get me into respite in the West. Don't people have the same right to services in East Lothian?
